Lori Gross is a licensed and certified Speech and Language Pathologist. Lori founded Theraplayy 10 years ago with Karen Fisher. Theraplayy was conceived to provide families with a multidisciplinary team approach to treat the whole child in ever changing environments. Lori’s training and experience facilitates her ability to maximize a child’s developmental potential and growth. She believes in a strong collaborative treatment approach and works directly with families in the clinic, home and school.

Lori holds a Masters degree in Communication Disorders and a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Lori began her career in 1991 and has worked in a variety of clinical pediatric settings including Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children, Children’s Floating Hospital at Tufts New England Medical Center, Boston Massachusetts, and The Center for Autism and Developmental Disabilities at Emma Pendleton Bradley Hospital, a Brown Medical School Affiliate in Rhode Island.

Lori began her private practice in 1999 and has worked with a diverse pediatric population including children diagnosed with Autism, Social Pragmatic Deficits, Down’s Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Asperger’s and Language Based Learning Disabilities. She has received specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of Autism Spectrum Disorders including the SCERTS Model, ABLC, The Hanen Program and the DIR tm/floortime model. Lori is currently pursuing certification in the Integrated Listening System.

Lori believes in drawing upon a variety of treatment approaches to meet the individual and changing needs of each child she works with. Lori works in close collaboration with the family, and other professionals working with the children she treats in order to ensure optimal carryover and successful therapy outcomes. Lori believes that every child has a unique developmental profile and is deserving of qualified, experienced and individualized care.
