Jennifer is a licensed and registered Occupational Therapist. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and a Master of Occupational Therapy degree. During her graduate education at Texas Woman’s University, Jennifer was honored with the Mary Joyce Newsom Award and Lectureship. Jennifer was recognized as the TWU-Houston Outstanding Student Leader, and she also received the Student Leadership Award presented by the Texas Occupational Therapy Association.

Jennifer has served as a Member of the Board of Directors to the Texas Occupational Therapy Association and has been a speaker at the Texas Occupational Therapy Association state conference. Prior to becoming an OT, Jennifer worked with children and adolescents ages 6-18 with social and emotional disturbances, and she taught therapeutic horseback riding. In Santa Barbara, California, Jennifer was a member of the Infant Mental Health team where, under the licensed supervision of clinical psychologist/registered play therapist, she provided play therapy intervention to children birth through age 5. During her Early Childhood Intervention career, Jennifer was a member of a D.I.R.®/Floortime intervention group assisting children birth to age 3 with differences in communicating and relating.

Jennifer began her career at Texas Children’s Hospital where she provided evaluation and treatment to patients in the outpatient department and in the acute setting. At TCH, she was a member of the Kids in Motion inpatient rehabilitation team where she worked with children needing intensive rehabilitation while recovering from neurological disorders/diseases, multiple trauma, and orthopedic injuries. At TCH, Jennifer was a primary occupational therapist on the hematology/oncology, bone marrow transplant, general surgery, liver / gastrointestinal, and pulmonary / adolescent units. Jennifer is experienced with feeding evaluation/intervention in both the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and in the outpatient setting. Jennifer’s experience and interests include working with children with sensory processing disorder, feeding disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, attachment disorder, dysgraphia, dyspraxia/developmental coordination disorder, visual-motor, fine motor and handwriting delays.

She is trained in the Integrated Listening System. Through collaboration with parents and professionals, Jennifer enables children to achieve their academic, social, and emotional potential. She is passionate about helping children climb the developmental ladder!
